A few years back I created a series of abstract autobiographical 11×14 wet plate collodion photographs of maps that chronicled the places I lived growing up as an Army brat. Continuing on with this theme, this series was as a gift for my girlfriend on her 35th birthday. I created (11) 4×5 wet plate collodion photographs on aluminum chronicling her travels and life thus far. I then created a slotted storage/display box as well as a frame to show off two plates as well as being easily swappable. The storage box includes multiple empty slots for an as yet determined future. The box and frame were created using some glass and American Cherry wood with dark Wenge wood for accents then multiple coats of Danish Oil stain.
