Another in the Road Map Series, this time for Clay Harmon. He is an immensely talented photographer, a creative mentor of mine, and even more so a great friend.
I chronicled the process of creating this series in a rather lengthy post that can be found here.
Brief overview. The box is created from African Mahogany wood for the front and back, Cherry wood for the short sides, and Ambrosia Maple for the big base plate and the wood framed glass lid. I used walnut for the plugs and the tiny strip handle on the lid. There are 15 4×5 wet plate collodion tintypes chronicling Clay’s life from Fort Rucker to Asheville.
